Excellent from @owenslot in @thetimes today. This is why our country will always be Great
"First through security were 4 mates from Chorley dressed as Mexican bandits, followed by Batman & Robin, Julius Caesar on crutches, five traffic cones, a pair of half-peeled bananas..."
Classic quote in @TheTimes obituaries today, Trevor Sorbie the hairdresser...
“My scissors and comb would be laid on my chest, and there would be a large vodka and tonic standing on the side,” he said. “Those are my tools, and all three have helped me through many a crisis.”
But having read his obituary in @thetimes today, I love the final sentence :
Jones insisted he had never made music for money or fame. “Not even Thriller. God walks out of the room when you start thinking about money.”

Very sad to hear Quincy Jones has died today. I can't think of anyone in the last century who has had a bigger influence on music. My favourite quote of his:
"do something that gives you goosebumps, man, and hope that a lot of other people feel as passionate as you do about it"
FlightAware has a page up tracking the UPS planes loaded with iPhones heading to the US for Friday’s launch.
Assuming roughly 300,000 iPhones fit a 747-8F, just one group planes near Alaska was hauling $2,330,200,000 ($2.3 billion) worth of iPhones this morning.
Another gem in @thetimes Obituaries today. Ken Palmer (ex cricketer and umpire)...
"Palmer proceeded to run through the Nottinghamshire batting, finishing with 9 for 57, a wicket for every pint of the black stuff imbibed the previous evening"
@sportingintel Just read it in its entirety - long but excellent read, I found myself nodding along with your top 10, liked the insight from the fan zones.

I love @thetimes obituaries, today's genius quote is from Herbert Hoelter (prison consultant), who's metaphor for choosing between a probation sentence or a prison sentence - We used to call it the aspirin or a lobotomy. We thought there was a lot of room for alternatives,”
I really enjoy @benedictevans weekly newsletter, even if it means having to clear my desk/mind to be able to take it all in.
Every week there’s at least 2 or 3 articles that make me go ‘hmm’, and need to dig in further. This weeks is a great example : https://t.co/zBmh5R75NV
Joined a really interesting talk by @mikko hosted by @ucl last night on AI enabled crime; a couple of nuggets from his talk :
- Gen AI revolution will be bigger than the internet revolution
- You're more likely to suffer crime online than in the real world
