Euro 2016 😂
Ronaldo fans still claim he "carried" Portugal to glory. Let’s talk facts, not feelings.
Ronaldo scored only 3 goals in the whole tournament. same as Nani. Not even the top scorer, that was Griezmann with 6. Ronaldo wasn’t even the Player of the Tournament (Griezmann won that too).
His goals?
2 vs Hungary in a 3-3 group draw.
1 header and Nani also scored vs Wales in the semi that’s it.
•Don't forget Portugal qualified as one of the best third-placed teams (best losers) from the group stage.
In the other 4 matches, zero goals from the "GOAT". Round of 16, quarters, and the Final? Silent.
Speaking of the Final he got injured and subbed off in the first half. And Eder, scored the winner in extra time. Portugal won as a team.
Yet All of you refuse to give credit to Nani, Pepe, Rui Patrício, Renato Sanches, and the rest who actually showed up when it mattered. Ronaldo had moments, sure but "carried"? In a tournament he compared to the WC level? Be serious.
Portugal won. Respect the squad, not the narrative. 🇵🇹

If you have to bring
-Pele to argue against Messi's Word Cup career.
-Ronaldo to argue against Messi's goal record
-KDB to argue against Messi's assists
-Dani Alves to argue against Messi's career trophies
-Neymar/Maradona to argue against Messi's dribbling
-Iniesta and Zidane to argue against Messi's playmaking
-Xavi to argue against Messi's passing
The debate was over before it even began.
- FIFA made Messi complete 9 successful dribbles—the highest total by any player in a single game at this World Cup.
- The referees made Messi create 4 chances, including 2 big chances.
- FIFA apparently installed a precision scale on Messi’s right foot so he could deliver crosses with that kind of perfection.
- The referees somehow made Messi produce one of the greatest individual performances in World Cup history.
- FIFA also made Enzo Fernández strike the ball beautifully and bury it in the net.
Sure, “FIFA’s favorite.”
May FIFA and the referees keep “helping” you like they supposedly did today.
Your excuses are getting weaker with every game. Match after match, you’re only exposing your own bias and proving just how extraordinary Messi is.
