Hasan Piker talks to Abdul El-Sayed about James Carville threatening to leave the Democratic Party
"This state is a swing state because of the machinations of the Clinton-era of politics. NAFTA."
El-Sayed: "Why does anyone still listen to James Carville? He said one smart thing once, which he seems to have forgotten. 'It's the economy, stupid.'
You wonder why people are pissed off, both parties take money from all the same people, to do all the same errands when they get elected. Then no one can afford shit and we wonder why everyone's mad.
Hey, maybe if we didn't take money from the corporations we could actually show up for the people and solve some of these problems. It's the economy, stupid."
shannon, if you've been around normal folk in the last year that have voted for a democrat in the last decade, you'd know this take is as uncontroversial as claiming the 28 dem nominee will be pro-choice
Hasan Piker: “Donald Trump did it. He banned transgender athletes. Did that help you? Do you feel better now? Do you feel like your life is improved in any significant manner? Of course not. It was always bullshit. It was always a fucking distraction. A very violent one for the tiny minority of transgender people. It’s horrible for them. But it’s not good for you”
Why is the establishment so nervous about @AbdulElSayed?
If he wins the MI Senate primary, the entire country will see that we CAN defeat $60 million in billionaire-backed super PAC spending and work towards a government that represents all people, not just the few.
Why do we stand with @AbdulElSayed?
Because he’s a fighter for:
Higher wages
Stronger unions
Lower bills
and expanded Medicare
…FOR ALL!
That’s why lobbyists are spending against him - and why your support makes all the difference.

the party establishment has made their decision. they do not want change. they do not want fighters. the people of michigan will now make their decision. do you want corporate stooges pushing endless war, or do you want medicare for all? do you want to stop maga, or cooperate?
Alan Ritchson: "It's harder than ever to make money. Look at inflation, look at dollars, the minimum wage from these fucking assholes who won't fucking... $7.25? ... I'll fucking backhand some idiot who thinks it's a bad idea to give a mom working at Waffle House more than $7.25/hr trying to feed her kids."

Reporter: Isn’t there concern that this slippery slope to socialism inevitably ends up as full-blown communism?
AOC: I mean, no. I think that’s very silly. We can’t even raise the minimum wage. Do they really think communism is going to happen? No. They’re trying to scare people because they don’t want us talking about the fact that we all have a right to health care.
So they want to call everything they don’t like communist because if people actually wake up to the fact that their elected officials are screwing them over when they get here, they’re going to realize they deserve better and that health care as a right isn’t crazy. They want to call this stuff communist because they don’t want us to realize that the rest of the developed world has guaranteed health care. They want to call it communist because they don’t want you to know that Germany, Italy, the UK, Canada—everybody else—has it better than us, and we spend the most money for the worst care in the developed world.
