Earshot, free open-source dictation for Windows:

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

Made Earshot, a free open source Wispr Flow alternative for Windows. Dictation, voice notes and meeting notes, all running on your own PC with no account or cloud. It idles at about 18 MB of RAM. Meeting summaries can be concise or nuanced, and you get the full transcript too.

@EiiKwesiKay Scale is always so underutilized! Contrast is everything. Love it.

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@RestingRelic Very cool, how does it handle running at speed into a static object? That always feels jarring in most games.

Please be good, please be good, please be good

SENTINEL is the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls. An incredible way for @BethesdaStudios to mark 40 years of building worlds that speak to millions of players across generations. Congratulations to the team, past and present.

I get asked frequently: how does AI work?
So I am putting myself out there and have built a short, digestible easy to understand series. Starting with Neural networks, tokens and LLMs.

@masamunecode This is nuts. What was the original inspiration for making something like this? And how many tokens did it use?

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@StepanMeister Interesting approach, turning it into a rhythm game rather than the calibration-style game most lockpicking minigames go for.

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@JanOrszulik Love it. Countless hours I've spent docked in a station just spinning my ship.. I'm being heavily inspired by EVE Online's ship fitting for my game.

Saturday evening, still tinkering away at Hullscarred. Will have some proper footage of the swarm to share next Saturday.

@TimeSeekerDev Congrats on getting it out there, that's a huge achievement! Going to check it out. Hope to be in your shoes one day.

@ShaderError This is awesome, looks so much cleaner than the naive pixelation side.

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

Without AI tools I'd have one or two projects on the go at most. Right now I've got twelve. Video games, tools, pipelines, workflows, and that's not to mention all the personal admin it's taken off my plate to make life easier.

I run a daily research schedule, it stores interesting papers, discussions and techniques for future reference in a database.

I kicked off this process because of amazing posts, which felt almost dirty to scroll on from without noting it down in some way.

We are living in such an incredible time. You can get Astra to discover and one-shot something called "Minato-Morreale ISOP recurrence" to make your code ~12,000x faster.

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@Antilitist Oh nice! You shared any of it anywhere?
CPU for the sim and GPU for the raymarching rendering, it was using Jacobi 6 in the above, I have since switched to SOR 6.

Messing about with VFX in Godot this weekend, trying to see how performant I can get fluid dynamics, and then scaling it up. #screenshotsaturday #godotengine

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@BeeBug_Nic Sounds great, I'll give it a go in the browser when it's out.

[THE DREAMING JESTER @TheDreamingJest]

@OtterSpaceDev This is awesome, is it multiplayer? Would be fun to see your friends get pulled up in that.
