சோழர்கள் சைவசிகாமணிகளாகவும், பரமேச்ரவனின் பாதத்தில் வண்டாகவும், சிவபாதசேகரர்களாகவும் திகழ்ந்தாலும் அனைத்து சமயத்தையும் எப்படி போற்றினர் என்பதையும், அதற்கிந்த சனாதன தர்மம் வழங்கிய பரந்துபட்ட பார்வையையும் விளக்குகிற அற்புதமான தரவு இது..இந்த ஆவணத்தின் வடமொழி பகுதியை எழுதியது வசிஷ்ட கோத்திரத்தை சேர்ந்த கொட்டையூர் அனந்த நாராயணன்..திருவாய்மொழியாக இராஜராஜசோழன் கூற அதை பதிய வைத்தது விளத்தூர் கிழவன் அமுதன் தீர்தங்கரன் ஆவார்கள்..முறையாக ஒரு அரசாங்கம் எப்படி திகழ்ந்தது என்பதோடு சேர்த்து நிர்வாக முறையை தெளிவாக நமக்கு வழங்கும் மிகப்பெரிய நிலஆவணம்..

சிறிய லெய்டன் செப்பேடுகள் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் ஆனைமங்கலச் சிறியசெப்பேடு ஒன்று இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக முதலாம் குலோத்துங்கன் காலத்தில் வழங்கப்பட்டது. குலோத்துங்கன் காலத்தில் கேயமாணிக்க வளநாட்டில் உள்ள பட்டினக்கூற்றத்தில் சோழகுலவல்லிப்பட்டினம் என நாகை அழைக்கப்பட்டது.அங்கே புத்த விகாரத்திற்கு இராஜவித்யாதர சிரீசாமந்தன், அபிமானோத்துங்க சிரீசாமந்தன் என்ற ஸ்ரீவிஜயத்தின் இரு தூதர்கள் வந்திருந்தனர். சில நிவந்தங்களை உறுதி செய்து அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட ஆவணம் இது..

இந்த புத்த விகாரம் உலகம் முழுக்க இருந்த பெளத்தர்களால் புகழ்பெற்று அறியப்பெற்றிருந்தது.15 ம் நூற்றாண்டில் கூட பர்மாவின் மன்னன் ராமாபதி ராஜனிடமிருந்து வந்த ராஜ தூதுவர்,பெளத்த பிட்சுகள் நாகையில் தங்கி வழிபட்டது ஆவணமாக உள்ளது.

அதே போல 17 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் சுற்றுபயணம் வந்த வெள்ளையர் அதை 'சீனாகோவில்' என உள்ளூர் மக்கள் அழைப்பதாக பதிவு செய்திருக்கிறார்.பொயு.1846 ல் சர்.வால்ட்டர் என்ற வெள்ளையரும் 'சீனாவின் கோவில்' 'கறுப்புக் கோவில்' என்று புத்த விகார் இருந்ததை உறுதி செய்திருக்கிறார்.

ஆனால் பாண்டிச்சேரி பிரெஞ்ச் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்தில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்ட ஏசு சபையினரான ஜெஸ்யூட் பாதிரிகள் இந்த புத்த விகாரத்திற்கு பக்கத்தில் குடியேறுகிறார்கள்.பின்பு பொயு.1856 ல் அங்கிருந்த பழைய இலுப்பை மரத்தை வெட்டியபோது அதற்கு அடியில் இருந்து 4 உலோகத்தாலும்,ஒன்று பீங்கானலும் செய்யப்பட்ட மிகப் பழமையான புத்தர் சிலைகள் கிடைக்கிறது.அதில் ஒரு உலோக சிலை 12 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சேர்ந்தது.அதன் பீடத்தில் எழுதப்பட்ட வாசகம் 'ஸ்வஸ்திஸ்ரீ ஆகம பண்டிதர் உய்யக்கொண்ட நாயகர்' என்று.இவை சீன முறைப்படி செய்யப்பட்ட சிலைகள் என்று ஆய்வாளர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள்.

இவற்றிற்கு பிறகு ஜெஸ்யூட் பாதிரிகள் இந்த கோபுரத்தின் வழியாக எங்களை வேவு பார்க்கிறார்கள்,எங்களுக்கு அச்சுருத்தலாக இருப்பதாக ஆங்கிலேய அரசிடம் கூறுகிறார்கள்.உடனே ஆங்கிலேய அரசு 1867ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 28ஆம் தேதி அந்த புத்த விகாரத்தை இடிக்க அரசு உத்தரவிட்டது.இடித்துவிட்டு புதிய கட்டிடத்தை கட்டிக் கொள்ளவும் உத்தரவிடுகிறார்கள்.இந்த விபரங்களை சர் டபிள்யூ. எலியட் தனது குறிப்பில் தெளிவாக பதிய வைத்துள்ளார்.ஆக பெளத்த விகாரை எந்த இந்து மன்னனும் இடிக்கவில்லை ஆனால் நிவந்தங்களை வாரிக் கொடுத்தனர் என்பது இந்து வரலாறாக உள்ளது.

இப்படி பல வரலாற்று உச்சங்களுக்கு தொடர்புடைய ஆனைமங்கலச் செப்பேடுகளை 300 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகு பாரதப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திரமோடி அவர்களின் நெதர்லாந்த் பயணத்தில் மீட்டு பாரதத்திற்கு கொண்டு வரப்படுவது வரலாற்று சிறப்புமிக்க தருணம்.இது ஒட்டுமொத்த இந்தியர்களுக்குமான பெருமை, தமிழர்களுக்குமான சிறப்பு.
