@6Galatians@singingsox@MASKattheOpera@confusionm8trix Iโm the president of a choir that requires masks for rehearsal, and then folks who want to are allowed to rapid test the day of performance and we have our audience wear masks. We are a mix of immunocompromised/disabled folks and abled folks who care to meet our access needs
long covid is hilarious because all the evidence we have says that it exists and not only does it exist but itโs extremely widespread and serious and yet we collectively refuse to acknowledge this reality because the bottom would fall out of the stock market if we did
In January 2025 my momโs lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here.
A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy.
So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years.
The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip.
I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform.
Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post.

Clavicular CLAIMS eating PINK is DISGUSTING because of the IRON taste and it feels like a CHORE ๐ญ๐
"I would kind of use like eating PINK as like a reward system after they do good deeds to sort of like train them."
"To train their psychology, which is like a very like difficult subject to talk about, but yeah, it's certainly interesting."
โThe landowner was informed that he must coordinate the olive harvest on his plot of land and was provided with the relevant contact information to arrange a harvest at a later date.โ

It's true: the legal status of Palestinians in the West Bank is not the same as that of Blacks in segregated Mississippi. It's worse. In the Jim Crow South, Black Americans were at least citizens of the country in which they lived.
This response is so telling. They literally can't imagine that Brad + the Jews who went with him feel a genuine moral + even religious obligation to try to protect Palestinians from harm. It's like looking at the Jews who went to Mississippi for Freedom Summer and asking: What's their real angle?
Iโve been detained by the IDF, along with a group of rabbis & volunteers. We were simply harvesting olives in a grove near Nehalim in the West Bank.
The occupation is a crime under international law. Harvesting olives isnโt a crime under any law I know.
This clarity is so important. This akin to Zohran's 'no apartheid state has a right to exist' moment. It moves the goal posts & permanently changes the conversation. Good on AES. Stay the course.
I also appreciate that he didn't fall for the 'Bibi's the real problem' misdirect.
