imagine building an app for non crypto natives.

here’s what their real first experience often looks like:

> user lands on your app
> “connect wallet” (they don’t have one)
> ok, they go download MetaMask or Rabby (or maybe you offer social login youhouu)
> install extension or mobile app
> write down 12 words (panic so screenshot it lol)
> come back to your app, connect wallet
> now they need crypto to do anything
> oh wait, they need to bridge to your chain
> find an exchange, buy crypto
> send it to the wallet (wrong network? fee too high? stuck in pending?)
> come back again
> need to approve a token before using it
> now they can finally try your app

maybe, if they didn’t quit already

if your app is for regular people, none of these steps make sense

social login, gasless flows, in-app wallet, fiat onramps, etc => these aren’t nice to haves anymore, they’re table stakes for anyone trying to go beyond CT

After I shared my prototype with an AR Camera Portal, a few people asked me what would happen if it was not a camera stream, but the scene itself was attached to the portal with all the physics affected. Good question! I made a quick prototype to test it. And the answer... You can see it! It's FUN.

Of course, the behavior might seem wholly messed up, but when one sees a failure, another sees an opportunity. You might be able to leverage these two modes to activate some game mechanics, like solving puzzles or repurposing your weaponry.
