This has to be outright the most sensible argument for why food reviews are simply opinions. And should not be seen as anything otherwise.

A significant chunk of food opinions (X is overrated, Kolkata X is better etc) are in reality judgments along a familiarity axis masquerading as judgements on a quality axis. Given every person experiences flavour uniquely, it’s best to ignore most negative opinions on food
