Thank you @CeylonToday for publishing this story about the IBRN’s mission and our recent workshop in Sri Lanka. We can’t wait to share the highlights from this event and look forward to progressing new partnerships with Sri Lanka.
The 5th @TheIBRN Forum took place earlier this week in Sri Lanka with the aims to gain understanding of Sri Lanka’s health system, emergency response strengths & challenges faced in relation to the 2019 bombings + exploring the rebuilding in Colombo and lessons learnt 🇱🇰 #IBRN
It is vital to share lessons learned from high acuity low frequency events to understand health care responses from each unique context. @TheIBRN is leading the way in improving blast resilience in systems and communities. @JackWDenny
Global & regional collaboration is essential in expanding critical, emergency and operative (CEO) care for resilient systems and #UHC#WHA76.2
@TheIBRN@JackWDenny@Trauma_CCCC Dr Hannah Wild networking @traumasec#SriLanka to collaborate and experience sharing.
There’s still time to register to attend our 5th in-person IBRN workshop ‘Strengthening Resilience to Urban Explosive Violence’ which will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 2-3 July!

To implement the #Declaration, we need to understand the blast effects of what we are trying to protect people from.
@AOAV and @TheIBRN's @JackWDenny explored why engineering-perspectives matter when discussing the protection of civilians from #EWIPA.👇

Excellent event & interesting discussions! Thank you @UNIDIR & @WeaponsMonitor for inviting me and the @TheIBRN to participate in this important workshop concerning data collection on the effects of explosive weapons in populated areas #EWIPA
Today France & @AOAV held a side event on "Mitigating IEDs effects". Many thanks to panelists @iainoverton@TIGizelis@JackWDenny Jenny Dathan for their deep data analysis (huge impact on civilians, esp. women) and subsequent recommendations to policymakers & urban planners.
@JackWDenny from the @TheIBRN@UoSEngineering will be presenting his research on blast effects and blast injury modelling in urban environments at a @UN side event tomorrow in New York.
Excited to present some of my research at tomorrow’s @UN side event on ‘understanding and mitigating the impact of explosions outside conventional warfare’, organised by @AOAV
Really pleased to share this recently published paper on reduced-scale #blast testing in collaboration with colleagues at @UCT_Research & @SheffieldBlast ! Thanks to @UoSEngineering & @UniSotonIntl Office for supporting this project. https://t.co/s7WVvJhW0w
