The US and Japan appear to be preparing for a shock to global markets.

A joint operation to save and or stabilize the Yen could be announced as soon as today

If the US sells dollars to buy Yen, the dollar weakens and USD/JPY falls. This is typically good for Bitcoin and gold.

However.. A sharp rally in the Yen could unwind the cary trade in the process.

Investors who borrowed Yen to buy stocks, crypto and other yield-bearing assets may be forced to sell or be liquidated

A stronger yen pressures Japanese exporters by reducing the value of overseas earnings.
