Imagine a world where we said, what’s going on with the children? So many of them are angry and distressed after school. So many of them are shut in their bedrooms. So many of them are anxious and unhappy. So many of them disillusioned at 15. 1;
@nursekelsey Our dog does this, but not on command lol! When she wants something and is trying to get our attention she starts with a "whisper woof" or two before gradually raising her voice to express more urgency. She almost NEVER barks with her outdoor voice. We did not teach her this 🤣
@Theholisticpsyc This quote is deeply meaningful to me and has been a constantly helpful reminder that not feeling ok is a perfectly reasonable response to society's current state. I think it pairs well with this thread. 💕
Many of us are walking around having trauma responses that we call “personality.”
This is to be expected in a dysfunctional society that demands we live in ways that are mismatched with how we evolved.

This local farmer just lost out on a government grant.
I'll give you one guess on what company received the money.

@drdagly Thank you for taking the extra time and having the patience to do this. For the medically anxious (often a direct result of experiencing past mistreatment in medical settings), this makes an ENORMOUS positive difference. Caring like this saves lives!
California's antitrust case against Amazon feels anachronistic, like a witchcraft charge, or some other ancient crime that we no longer prosecute. It's true, antitrust spent 40 year in a coma! The Amazon case neatly illustrates how it was sedated, and why it finally roused. 1/
A common response to this is that your co-workers are not your friends, and you should find "real friends" instead. This is an odd response. Obviously most of your co-workers are not real friends, but many friendships start in an office and expand from there.
It's #WorldSuicidePreventionDay!
As a suicidologist and someone who has experienced chronic suicidality since age 9, I want to offer some insights that mainstream prevention orgs don't often share. 🧵
@ThereNeither @chrismknapp @bessbell I think you'll enjoy it once you break the ice! I am about to finish a pair of wide leg lounge pants, my first attempt at working with a cotton jersey knit. Some of the seams look a bit messy on the inside and I'm experimenting a bit, but seeing them come together is satisfying!
@FungiwithBengi@AlecStapp That would be smart to contain the "compost" using something not able to be consumed by the same fungi species. I'm endlessly amazed by the seemingly limitless possibilities with fungi, I'm convinced they hold the answers to 99% or better of our human problems
@FungiwithBengi@AlecStapp There are fungi that have been found to break down plastics... Could plastics be made sustainable through a process in which mycoremediation transforms plastics into organic compounds? https://t.co/9ubq0w6ndt
