The five Buss siblings who voted to sell the family trust’s Lakers shares – Jim, Johnny, Janie, Joey and Jesse – filed in courts their formal opposition Wednesday to Jeanie Buss’ petition seeking to prevent the sale. This comes after unresolved settlement discussions.
Statement: "Jimmy, Johnny, Janie, Joey and Jesse Buss, the five of six siblings who voted to sell the Trust’s shares in the Lakers, today filed their formal opposition, demonstrating that Jeanie Buss’s petition is legally and factually baseless.
"While discussions among the siblings continue, their focus remains on facilitating the proposed transaction and the Trust’s participation in it, while ensuring that all beneficiaries, including Jeanie, are treated equally.
"Today’s filing is a necessary step to protect those interests and ensure the transaction proceeds on schedule."
Just now: Rep. Chip Roy is furious with Democrats on House Judiciary after Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon’s third attempt at an amendment to exempt unaccompanied infants who are under a year old from crossing the border illegally to seek asylum:
“Your current system has 85,000 kids they can't find. What in the world? It's the New York Times. It's not Fox News. And we're sitting here talking about a fiction, a fiction of saying there's an infant rolling through somewhere outside of Eagle Pass right now begging to claim asylum. The infant is not doing that. This is absurd. You know it's absurd.
And we're being traded (unclear) by my colleagues on the side of the aisle with, ‘Where are the thousand that aren't being reunified (from Trump era)?’ Go find the 85,000 that we don't even know where the hell they are under the Biden administration.”

President Biden just told the AFL-CIO that child care in my home city of Chicago now costs "$12,000 to $14,000 a month for child care." That would be over $150,000 a year for a child? I think that may be $9000 or so a year. https://t.co/J11bVvide2
