@AusiAntiquarian@ThomasVLinge These pro-junta villagers burnt 2 resistance fighters alive while hanging them up a tree.
They should be grateful they aren't even harmed.
While I won't condone this, I must add the context that this village was responsible for hanging 2 resistance members up a tree and burning them alive in early years.
I wouldn't shed any tear for them.
This is abhorrent and very wrong behavior by the way. Even if their husbands and fathers are part of a pro-junta militia, parading around terrified women and even children is totally unacceptable, under any circumstances.
Myanmar 🇲🇲
Myanmar 🇲🇲: yesterday PDF resistance fighters launched a succesful assault on the village of Yebyar in the Pauk township (Magway region).
The village was seized and around 20 junta soldiers were taken captive.
Apparently, some #Americans are running their own #SharkTank show in Myanmar by advocating to Washington for "engaging" with the junta in return for rare earth which are mined in non-junta areas. Peak grift. @ForeignPolicy.

1. This History Thread is about the use of aerial drones in Myanmar (Burma). Before 2021 coup, drones had civilian uses & military surveillance. Post-coup, innovative improvised warfare usage by anti-coup forces; more recent increased use by coup regime. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
Great article by @cmc_mikehaack on the eccentric cast of characters advocating that Washington should pursue engagement with #Myanmar’s military in order to secure access to the country’s critical minerals @ForeignPolicy: https://t.co/pdOcpheTtS
Myanmar 🇲🇲: heavy fighting also took place in the Okpho township in the Bago region as local PDF resistance fighters tried to prevent junta troops from moving into their territory.
.@MizzimaNews noted 🇹🇭's Tak Immigration Dept seemingly hosted a football event featuring a Shwe Kokko affiliated team + KNA/Karen BGF leader Chit Thu's son Saw Chit Chit (+ his sister).
my below post/writing notes how Saw Chit Chit seems engaged in existential sportswashing...
Junta chief turned #Myanmar President #MinAungHlaing is on his 1st overseas official trip to #India since he assumed post in April. He met Indian foreign minister @DrSJaishankar in #NewDelhi where he has been welcomed as President. He'll also meet PM Modi https://t.co/hojvuY7ltJ
SRF will go the way of BNRA if they keep up with their warlord attitude.
NUG shouldn't waste time entertaining these merry bands of armed groups with no political or military structure.
Just like BNRA case, no consequential EROs/SRA member will say a word if NUG gets decisive.
@sheehanj920 India can't just help themselves with one strategic blunder after another.
They want to counter China, so begin doing what China does, instead of forging their own vision with the conditions available to them.
Soe Thuya Zaw, Deputy Chief of Staff of the People's Defense Force Military Command, posted this on Facebook:
"There are extremely heavy enemy casualties on the battlefield.
This is not happening in just one or two places. Across all battle zones throughout Myanmar, the enemy side is suffering devastating losses and injuries. Although no official announcements are being released, according to the daily reports reaching us, the number of enemy weapons and bodies seized from various battles every day is significant.
It is not only us who know the real situation on the battlefield — the enemy themselves know it very well too.
The ones who have difficulty knowing the truth are the ordinary people.
Especially the civilians trying to survive in enemy-controlled areas have little idea what is happening daily in the battles taking place not far from them.
Are people still able to contact friends who have gradually disappeared from around them?
Are those people even able to return home?
The military dictatorship only cares about holding onto power, and is forcing young people across the country to sacrifice their lives.
Rounded up immediately…
Given training immediately…
Then immediately sent to the battlefield…
These forcibly recruited soldiers are vastly outmatched compared to our revolutionary fighters in terms of combat ability and experience.
On the real battlefield, we revolutionaries also have no other choice. If the enemy obeys unjust orders and advances to fight us, then we can only completely eliminate them.
However, those who were forcibly conscripted still have a choice.
That choice is: if you get the opportunity, run away and escape.
In a war where the difference in fighting capability is enormous, conscripted soldiers should not throw away their lives for nothing. Do not sacrifice your future and die meaninglessly in this war.
There are already many cases where people who defected to our side were protected well, kept alive, and properly cared for.
So…
-Avoid being forcibly conscripted if possible.
-If you are conscripted, do not hesitate too long — escape whenever you get the chance.
-If you cannot find a way out and end up on the battlefield, defect to the revolutionary side and surrender your weapons.
-Do not try to stand and fight when the difference in combat ability is so overwhelming. Fighting back will not keep you alive. Only surrender can fully guarantee your safety.
Parents and civilians should also work together to protect their children and friends from being forcibly recruited into the military.
