WILLOW SMITH IS LISTENING TO MAPFUMO! Zimbabwe’s Chimurenga legend Thomas Mapfumo has made it onto WILLOW’s playlist.
The American singer recently shared some of her latest music discoveries with Pigeons & Planes and among her picks was Mapfumo’s classic “Ndanzwa Ngoma Kurira.”
Daughter of Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, WILLOW is a Grammy-nominated artist who first broke globally with “Whip My Hair.”
Decades later, Mukanya’s music is still travelling, still being discovered and still finding new ears across generations.
Make it make sense , Zimbabwe is geographically larger than the entire United Kingdom(Northern Ireland, England, Scotland , Wales ) with a population of 68 million. Our population is just 16 million. So why is owning a piece of land in our own motherland treated like a pipe dream for the elite ? We are choosing to preserve empty bushes for tourists and wildlife while thousands of young Zimbabweans have nowhere to build a future or a home 😭😭😭💔? Tichangofira kuma Mine 🇿🇼
Every African should see this video of a bilateral discussion between President Emmanuel Macron of France and representatives from Burkina Faso.
No one has made me happier for and prouder of Africa than the ladies in the video. Ibrahim Traoré has the best brains around him.✍️
Please note that we will no longer assist with complaints involving The Daily Sale Shop Zimbabwe.
We have received countless complaints from people who paid for products but never received their orders. Despite these complaints, many people are still buying from the shop.
Our advice is simple: if you are buying something expensive, do not pay for it online unless you fully trust the seller. It is safer to visit a shop, see the product with your own eyes, and buy it in person, even if it costs a little more.
The shop has also limited who can comment on its Facebook posts, making it difficult for customers to share their experiences. We encourage everyone to be careful, do their research, and think twice before sending money online.
Digital Services Tax marwadzo 💔 | A US$206 online payment ended up costing US$273 after an extra US$67 in charges was added
Be warned, Zimbabweans! Using your local Visa cards to save money online is a total scam.
I recently tried to buy an airline ticket online from Harare to Swaziland. The online price was $206 USD. Knowing that local travel agents in town were charging $250 USD, I figured I would save money by using my TN Cybercash (formerly Steward Bank) VISA Card. I had $250 USD cash sitting in my account. When I hit pay, it rejected the transaction for "Insufficient Funds."
I went straight to the branch in Avondale for help. Even the customer service agent was shocked. She had to go to the back office to investigate. The answer she brought back was unbelievable: I needed at least $273 USD in my account just to clear a $206 USD transaction!
That is $67 USD in extra charges and hidden holds for a single online payment!
Is this highway robbery by TN Cybercash/Steward Bank, or is the Zimbabwean banking system completely broken?
We heard the government introduced a 15% VAT on international online payments, but banks are applying it so aggressively and adding massive "safety buffers" that it makes absolutely no sense to use our Visa cards anymore.
Why promote financial inclusion and digital cards when you penalize us for using our own hard-earned USD? Imagine... Travel agents are now cheaper than booking online!
