tried Marathon; It's a beautiful game. Gunplay is typical-Bungie-amazing, iconic and innovative visuals. UI is great, UX could use some polish. The biggest problem?
It's an extraction shooter... Give me all the classic halo multiplayer modes in Marathon and its an INSTANT buy
@chhopsky It actually did not 😂 as my first project it was a mess, and I’m still optimizing it to this day. My current game gets 300+ FPS though so I’ve learned my lesson
@DevLand95213410 I used it for my game trailers music. I regret it. I’ve already got a new one drafted up.
Don’t get me wrong the song is great, but it’s plagiarism plain and simple. It took me some time to figure that out, but now I’m fixing and never doing it again
"Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs)..." - President Donald J. Trump
For my first game, I had 0 experience, 0 skill, and $0 budget, and yet it felt painfully obvious to me that I had to find uninvested strangers, outside my target audience, to test my game
The blindfold that a well funded game puts on developers needs to be studied by science
@ProjectGorgon I’ve been shilling PG so hard on Twitch 😂 I pin a comment for the demo too. Well done guys, I hope I make a game as great as yours one day 🙏🏻
@Dexerto don’t really watch big streamers, but I’m impressed by Peanut because of the amount of effort he puts into being entertaining. A lot of these old school nerds stream with a frameless Logitech c920, no scenes, no on screen effects, and no effort to try and be interesting at all
@NRActual When you have a game that most people enjoy but don’t play for long, there’s usually no staying power in its progression system. I remember this game fondly, but I could not for the life of me tell you what you got for putting time into it
While we are not happy about Ashes of Creation flopping, we should take the time to drive this point home:
Stop paying for the promise of a game
If you want the industry to drop live service slop and early access scams, you need to vote with your wallet
