If oil shaped geopolitics, can payments protocols do it too? An India-made standard other countries plug into is soft power by design. Should UPI be an export, not just a success?
India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action.
India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so.

AI can now write genomes from scratch.
Arc Institute an NVIDIA just published Evo-2, the largest AI model for biology, trained on 9.3 trillion DNA base pairs spanning the entire tree of life.
it doesn’t just analyze genomes. it creates them

India definitely needs to:
- reduce interest rates: repo's at 6.5% or so, versus inflation of 5% odd, and core inflation at 3.5%. We cannot have such large real rates and expect investment
- ease up regulatory overload in manufacturing, services, GST, income tax, investments by residents AND non-residents into Indian securities
- remove the concept of NRE/NRO accounts - treat NRIs as Indians and let them have regular bank accounts and demat accounts. You can enforce ownership rules on stocks or bonds by limits at NDSL or CDSL.
- Rapidly push local metros in all large cities, on a war footing, even if lines run "empty". We need the infra.
- Do a more detailed study of whether we need free food to 80cr. people - most likely it's just being siphoned off and sold. Reduce freebies, and improve deliverables like roads, electricity and water.
- Allow exports as easily as we allow imports, it's a pain to export physical things even now. Allow exports of gold bars.
- Encourage women to work by subsidizing day-care centers across dense urban cities, and train day-care workers on health/nutrition/care/games plus use tech for remote monitoring of children
- Build more nuclear. A lot more. And make deals for Uranium with countries like Niger which used to exclusively supply to France but have broken off
- Break up regulatory behemoths into smaller, more accountable chunks, much like structures in developed countries. This will reduce overregulation and rent seeking, or power grabs.
- ensure that private Indian companies supply the majority or more than 80% to our defense needs - equipment, weapons etc. India doesn't need to be the world's largest arms importer in the next decade.
- Labour reforms are absolutely necessary, so that we don't get beaten up by labour inspectors all the time, and reduce the influence of the EPFO which is a terribly non-transparent institution.
There's so much more. I'm sure this will tick off a lot of people - some point or the other - but the power of freedom allows strong opinions to tick people off, while encouraging reasoned debate.

Thanks for the nice explanation as always.
Fundamentally, there seem to be no issues.
Technically, does this exhibit a bullish cup and handle pattern?
@sahilbhadviya@sahilbhadviya
It's a high inflation environment with high interest rates. Thus higher premiums and lower savings are leading to more defaults.
1. Higher Costs + Low Salary Growth = Lower Savings 2. High Interest Rates = Higher Premiums
1 + 2 = Higher Default Risk :))
@aditya_kondawar Exactly! I was wondering if I should state an example, glad that you did haha.
I believe Apple is still on the higher end of the quality spectrum.
A very interesting example could be "Philips light bulbs" and the Phoebus cartel from many years ago.
