Fintech infrastructure provider Decentro has received final approval for a Payment Service Provider (PSP) licence from IFSCA at GIFT City.

The licence allows Decentro to operate cross-border payment services from GIFT City.

A separate entity has been set up in GIFT City to offer services such as multi-currency accounts, cross-border collections, and international payment settlements for businesses operating across jurisdictions and handling international transactions.

I didn't expect our first offline QR merchant we'd go live with to be in Palwal. My birthplace. A place I left years ago, chasing something I couldn't quite name then.

A shopkeeper there now accepts payments through a static QR powered by the payments infrastructure we built at @DecentroTech. Quietly. Without fanfare. The way real infrastructure works — invisible, but always there.

That's the thing about being in the rails business. We rarely get to see the end consumer. We're the silent backbone, unsexy, but very essential. Most of the time, the merchant is designing & owning the checkout screen, and that's exactly how it should be.

But this one felt different.
Not because it's big. It's one merchant, one QR code, one small town.

But because India's merchant landscape is vast and beautifully diverse, millions of small shops, street vendors, local businesses — each one a node in an economy that doesn't need a single winner. It needs infrastructure that lets everyone win.

This is that. A full circle moment I didn't plan, in a place that shaped me before I knew what I was being shaped for.

If you know merchants or players — in any city, at any stage — who are looking to add payment partners, I'd love an intro. We're building for all of Indian payments. One product at a time.
