What could our kids be learning right now? Kindness, respect and a shared sense of purpose. We are all in this together. It's really important that we are supportive and kind to one another. Thanks for the reminder @Headspace#Backtoschool#FieldWorkFriday
"Come to the edge.. We can't, we're afraid! ... Come to the edge, ..so they came... And they flew" #BacktoSchool Our thoughts here are with all the families, teachers and kids returning to school tomorrow. Hang in there everyone!
@jmsperling That would be my guess too :) Did you know you can buy Green Lacewings as part of an IPM strategy? https://t.co/F0cY7U5eBI
I have a weakness for preying mantis myself...
Lots of interest during @MayflyShauna's presentation about the involvement of farmers as part of the process to determine beneficial management practices, especially now with #AGLivingLabs.

Benthic macroinvertebrates (the bugs that we are interested in because they are widespread & both sensitive & tolerant, depending on the bug) are collected using kicknets! These are wide, rectangular nets that are deployed into watersheds. Cool beans!
@MayflyShauna@WomeninSTEM
Shauna's work is about beneficial management practices for agriculture in PEI. The aim of her project was to evaluate changes in water chemistry. Her work focuses on both historic and current data.

Our own contribution to #FieldworkFriday features @EmHasMayflyCAD as she takes samples from our aquacosm to be used for future research projects (read more here about our aquacosm work: https://t.co/oTUSmDGYMs)
PS: Next year we promise it'll be goopier. 😉
#SciComm#Biology
Our 3rd pick for #FieldworkFriday is from @csunorthridge's Marine Biology Graduate Student Association & features @dmbeckerr, a MS student.
We ❤️ highlighting all the innovative and important work scientists are doing to help us better understand the world we live in.
#SciComm
#fieldworkfriday @dmbeckerr is running photosynthesis-respiration trials to assess coral photosynthetic & respiration rates in both light & dark conditions when exposed to increasing temps to see how corals respond when they come from a low-nutrient or high-nutrient enviro...
Our 2nd pick for highlighting work done around the globe by scientists on this #FieldworkFriday is from @AnnaVincentMS, a PhD student in Biological Sciences @NotreDame. Anna studies stream ecology, water quality, and human-ecosystem interactions!
#Biology#SciComm
Long-term projects like the one described below by @Fuentes_MMPB, a marine conservation biologist with Florida State University's Environmental Science-Oceanography, Geology, & Meteorology (@FSU_EOAS), are incredibly important for research.
#Biology#FieldworkFriday#SciComm
After a bit of a social media hiatus we are BACK this month with all-new content. On Fridays, we like to highlight the fieldwork that biologists from around the world are conducting--because science is AWESOME.
Stay tuned for today's 3 picks!

Something magical was afoot @BiologyUnb this afternoon. @EmHasMayflyCAD used a transfiguration spell to change #HaroldTheCow into our very own Dr. Alexa Alexander-Trusiak!!! 🐄👀💫👩🔬
(But can she change him back? Find out next week!)
#HappyHalloween! 🧙♀️🧹#Biology🦇 #SciComm 🎃
