@TeachLeadRepeat @Chris_C_Barber Some students aren't motivated by grades, and that's part of the problem with grades. In my experience, when "the work" was the focus rather than "the grade"-the quality of the assignment improved. Students create their own motivation when they start from a place of connection.

@TeachLeadRepeat @SenorBelles We conduct a norming and calibration protocol based on the rubric being used. We then discuss our rationale for the score based on the rubric.

@pernilleripp I guide students to think about one thing that will make their writing better and to view their revision with that lens in mind. Ex. Do you need more sophisticated word choice? Do you need to vary your sentence structure? How might you do that? I offer additional ideas as needed.
