A message to all LGBTQ+ Americans and their allies who feel unsafe and unwanted in their state:
Michigan would like a word.
YOU BELONG HERE!
Happy Pride to all!

Right now, there is a nationwide assault on our LGBTQ+ community, especially our trans neighbors, family, and friends. It’s dangerous, wrong, and un-American.
I want to send a message to anyone living in a state that doesn’t respect who they are: Michigan has a place for you.
The violent news from Colorado Springs is sickening and heartbreaking - the more so because there is a pattern.
We can not, will not, allow hate to win. We must end this in our time. No rest until all of us, including all of us in the LGBTQ+ community, can be, and feel, safe.
BREAKING: Democrats flip both chambers of the Michigan Legislature, will have a trifecta in Lansing for the first time in 40 years with control of the House, Senate and Gov. @GretchenWhitmer. #ElectionDay#Election2022
Thank you @DirectorMvaa for bringing @MIAttyGen@_JusticeClement and I to Muskegon for a moving tribute to our state’s veterans as we approach the 20th anniversary of 9/11. It’s inspiring to connect with many who’ve sacrificed so much and develop more ways to honor their service.
Today's shameful display at the Capitol is Trump's legacy. Despite the chaos and anarchy of the moment, I've never been more proud to be an American than I am watching @JoeBiden address this insurrection. If anyone can return our nation to some semblance of sanity, it is he.
Michigan will have 3 million or more absentee ballots to count. The counting of AV Ballots cannot begin until 7am Election Day. The election ends when all the votes are counted. Not when the polls close. #CountEveryBallot https://t.co/vIWpMpJW0r
Michigan citizens are already voting - and at historic levels! As of today:
✔️2.7 million Michigan citizens have requested their ballot
✔️2.6 million have received their ballot
✔️380,000 have already voted.

Thank you, Justice Ginsberg, for your lifelong dedication to truth, equality, and the rule of law. Our country is better because of your service to it. #RBG 👩🏻⚖️⚖️
Thankfully Michigan voters have already safeguarded their elections passing Proposal 2 last November! It is still a shame that the Supreme Court does not step up to defend our citizens against Constitutional violations
BREAKING: SCOTUS rules that partisan gerrymandering cases are a political question, meaning that courts can't decide them. This allows gerrymandering to continue and flourish.
It's now in the hands of voters across the nation to hold legislators to account and demand fair maps.
Today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country so that others could live freely. May we do everything in our power to protect the democratic principles our heroes fought for so valiantly, so that their sacrifice was not in vain. https://t.co/vpcHYtg9Ub
