Multiple cars of a freight train derailed from the tracks of the BNSF railway along Harbor Drive, near Petco Park on Saturday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol confirmed with FOX 5/KUSI.

You failing to mention the massive infrastructure upgrades the Pershing project also provided (on top of the bikes lanes) is misleading and disingenuous.
The Pershing project did not just add a bike lane. It re-built a massive deteriorating sidewalk, provided native trees, and replaced two underground storm drain systems. Are those inappropriate investments too? You constantly complain about the City’s infrastructure deficit, and then also complain when they fix it… simply because a bike lane is included? I am frustrated by the cost of the project, but that’s not what you are objecting to. You are objecting to this investment in its totality.
This bike lane didn’t even remove any parking spots. Your obsession with making the City look bad (which isn’t hard to do) means your judgement is constantly clouded. Please touch grass Paul or go donate your time to the many civic organizations actually helping our communities.
It’s not 1 to 1. You can’t immediately put a S8 household in a newly financed LIHTC unit that won’t get built for two years. When you don’t increase existing program funding to inflation, you essentially are cutting service/taking benefits away/destabilizing households. Goal should be to keep existing HUD programs stably funded while also investing in new programs that perform better/are more cost effective.
@realsaadasad And the FY27 HUD budget that the House just proposed includes another cut to S8, public housing, community development programs. We’ll see where it lands in the Senate…
@realsaadasad He’s just trying to foster anti-tax sentiment throughout the voter base. A less-funded government makes it easier for him to take advantage of people. His displayed hubris in the interview about taxes he pays and businesses he created was astonishing.
@realsaadasad@LincolnClub Poway has a growth problem. Their population and housing has essentially been flat since 2000, meanwhile they leech off the region’s economy. They are a glorified HOA.
@JulieChangRE They’ll run into the same issues in 25-30 years that CA is running into now, although with their property tax system they might have an easier path to a solution. Not really sure where CA goes…
10% GDP growth, 10% unemployment.
I think we're going have to depend on most tech companies for UBI and eventually UHI. more investment in tech for the govt too! how else do we take care of society?
Wow! Unanimous support for AB 1903, which aims to end the onslaught of frivolous litigation that makes it impossible to build condos in California—key to reviving homeownership. Still a ways to go, but @BuffyWicks has a way of making the impossible seem inevitable.
Today, among the goods that are universally intended for everyone, we must also include new forms of property, such as patents, algorithms, digital platforms, technological infrastructure and data. In a context where the wealth of nations depends increasingly on knowledge and technology, when these goods remain concentrated in the hands of a few, without adequate forms of sharing and access, a new imbalance is created that contradicts the universal destination of goods. In turn, it widens the gap between the included and the excluded, between those who can participate in the digital revolution and those who remain on the margins. #MagnificaHumanitas
