@CyberWiz_YT I think with raptor 3 thrust wasn’t a big improvement I think efficiency, SI and weight reduction were more imprtant and raptor 4 will have the increase in thrust
@ScottLikesSLS Just re checked Jeremy definitely says 22 launches is unrealistic and Elons estimate is closer to space x’s goals for Artemis and the near future. Time stamped for 3:22pmEDT on the NASA space flight stream of the event
To everyone saying starship needing 20 launches for a landing is outrageous clearly doenst understand the scale of this program: a Saturn V today costs 1.5B for 2.4t to the moon so for 15t wich is NASA’s requirement which space x will exceed it woudl cost 9B. Starship costs 2B
@OliverNerd7@brainful00 The pad and surrounding infrastructure will not survive a full stack explosion however a ship explosion is different there is still 36t of propellant in there on landing but chances are only 15% ignites meaning the tower, flame trench and deluge will survive however the BQD won’t
@megagoose11 you are right the Aft dome wasn't exposed but the reason why the V1 and V2 boosters glowed at the base on entry is because they used SPAM or Space x proprietary ablative material with gloves as it heats, they also used P50 cork sheets inbetween engines these also glowed on entry.
I caught the ship 7.49 m from the centre mark, 12.7 s from engine relight to touchdown (Final Approach, Level 2 · Medium) 🚀 Can you beat it? https://t.co/Ehub5epKaH beat that fuckers
Starship v5 doing its 35 engine boost back pulling 18 g after hot staging while keeping the inner 15 lit using 1 grid fin and x turns (space x patented) to guide itself back towards the 3m long chopsticks to save 1.4tons in payload capacity
I caught the ship 6.73 m from the centre mark, 19.7 s from engine relight to touchdown (Final Approach, Level 1 · Easy) 🚀 Can you beat it? https://t.co/Ehub5epKaH very fun to play
