@DrLuisACenteno1 I'm optimistic and believe this will change in the coming decades.
There are promising studies, such as this one: https://t.co/9pN9Ud7nEM
NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites
The style is unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war
@EricConk32@Mark_Solms@henrymnyc@GrantHBrennerMD@neuroPSA Yeah, I have held my hopes up for dismantling designs, but it seems the RCT trial paradigm of 12-20 session treatment for heterogenous conditions ("depression") hasn't been able to find robust mechanisms the way we would've wished for. Supportive therapy is too powerful.
@EricConk32@Mark_Solms@henrymnyc@GrantHBrennerMD@neuroPSA – interpretive PA is more effective than supportive PA: https://t.co/FGma3M2wAT (Høglend et al. 2014)
– in-session emotional expression predicts symptomatic improvement https://t.co/RjLDnzXT1l (Town et al., 2022) and https://t.co/RiGZ5mvn3Y (Keefe et al., 2019)
@EricConk32@Mark_Solms@henrymnyc@GrantHBrennerMD@neuroPSA These are great questions @ericconk32. I'm not aware of any studies that meet all the criteria you line up above, but here are some studies that might interest you:
– bids to mentalize are linked with immediate anxiety reduction https://t.co/YyBhGKtZ5d (Kivity et al., 2021)
@awaisaftab Conscious and unconscious denial are internal forces with extreme persistence and pervasiveness. Working as a therapist and teacher of mental health professionals, I'm often struck by my own denial or that of the people I work with.
We're a crazy tribe, us humans.
Det sker (otroligt nog) just nu flera svenska forskningsprojekt där intensiv psykodynamisk terapi erbjuds för funktionella problem. Igår omskrevs ett av projekten i DN: https://t.co/jBS2nARkjp
@RCarhartHarris I record sessions with a webcam (like this one https://t.co/XB6o8WcgMz) directly to my hard drive (using OBS software), then move to encrypted disc. I think that would provide you with better quality material than the security cam above.
@LSharpeUSYD@AllenFrancesMD And their bias is of course that they ran the study that was being criticized. I love schema therapy by the way.
Anyways, I'm happy to disagree! Have a good week.
@LSharpeUSYD@AllenFrancesMD There are lots of strengths with this trial. But I would consider this training problem a major validity threat.
Here's Frank Yeoman's full comment: https://t.co/oBAUYD2k2d
@LSharpeUSYD@AllenFrancesMD The "TFP" therapists in the study had ten years of experience with generic psychodynamic therapy, which doesn't necessarily help you develop the skills necessary to do TFP.
This study showed the failure of this one approach to teaching TFP. It is not a good test of TFP proper.
@LSharpeUSYD@AllenFrancesMD If you're thinking about the Giesen-Bloo study, Frank Yeomans who was one of the TFP consultants on the study, has published a comment where he says the RCT didn't test TFP, as about half of the therapists weren't capable of adhering to the protocol.
