Studying the growth of Cladocora caespitosa in the NW Mediterranean, we found ๐declining calcification in the Columbretes Islands, but... ๐Local nutrients shape resilience to warming.

๐ ๐จ After many years our study on the longest continuous coral Sr/Ca-temperature record it is finally out in Science Advances! | @ScienceAdvances Collab w/ @coralmannie@ProfMattEngland@ariaanpurich and others https://t.co/7EnphwCSUG
@DaviesswPhD Hobos are best for that price range, but you gotta cover them in tape! Or some mechanism of preventing solar heating. If your budget allows, RBR loggers are fantastic
New paper led by @benhenley shows just how extreme recent heat events around the Great Barrier Reef have been. It's only be greatly reducing greenhouse gas emissions that parts of the Reef can be protected https://t.co/ZWoF2za1oc
Excited to announce that I will be starting a tenure track faculty position @Tulane@TulaneEES in the Fall! I will be continuing with https://t.co/1TjMeA9Prp and new projects on coral reefs, climate, and oceanography. And I'll be recruiting Ph.D. students for Fall 2025
@NatureClimate my student submitted their manuscript to you on January 17th and it hasn't been rejected or sent to review, just stuck in limbo. For 104 days. I guess we need to cut our losses and withdraw it, but it's confusing for early career folk to be left in limbo so long
@JezRoff FYI that the NOAA CRW data underestimate max DHW for 1998-2004 events (https://t.co/FSJZisr0O5). This year's DHW may well be record breaking, just saying that if comparing across all observed bleaching events there may be cool bias in the earlier events in CRW

The implications of our study necessitate a re-assessment of seismic risk in the Puget Sound of Washington. The ๐ฒs give us a warning of potential earthquake scenarios for the heavily populated region.
