@TomPark1n What number did she call? We’ve been calling the main number and it just tells you that no agents are available and ends the call. Family of 4 stranded in Calgary trying to get back to London. Thanks for any info!
@Klingebeil It’s amazing how quickly they’ve become the default in hybrid working contexts (as well as remote) - even when people are together in the office
The rise of the User is the return of the Amateur. With one key difference: software empowers Users with the best known Techniques.

Tools like Dall-E promise to provide Amateurs access to the best known methods. Time will tell which Techniques will pass to the realm of the User, and which will be retained by experts.

Jacques Ellul perceived our obsession with Technique was turning Craftspeople into Technicians (thanks for the tip @jamestplunkett ). But he didn’t predict how software would turn Technicians into Users

@hautepop Love this insight. Also I’ve always thought there’s a contradiction between the interests of the user (find a good match quickly) and the dating platform (ongoing revenue)
Yesterday @willpageauthor was in our office for a brilliant talk about his critically acclaimed book "Tarzan Economics". We recommend checking it out and giving his podcast "Bubble Trouble" a listen: https://t.co/ON2Uin4QiU
Thanks Will, it was a pleasure having you!
@berkun It’s an important distinction but is often used to dismiss what people say. What they say reveals their desires and aspirations. What they do reveals their current constraints/experience. A good researcher explores the intersection of both.
We are looking for a bright, organised and enthusiastic #Junior#Consultant to help coordinate our multi-country #research projects.
If you think you, or someone you know, would be a good fit, find out more about the #role on our website.

I’ve never been sold that web3 is just a goldrush. “The Extreme Self” by @shumonbasar@DougCoupland@HUObrist explains the deeper motivations behind why so many people are all in https://t.co/VnE0s8aZQj
I was late to this book, but I highly recommend it if you want an artful, visually arresting thesis on the direction our identities are shifting. https://t.co/xBdz2qSepW
In my interpretation of the book I try more explicit the idea of the “Sensing Self”, which is alluded to. I think it’s a useful counterpoint to understand why our physical identities are equally compromised as our online selves, but for different reasons.
The latest edition of Frames, which looks at the “Extreme Self”, web3 and designing for fantasies, is now live. Be sure to explore our writing on Substack, and subscribe to have Frames delivered to your inbox every month.
