TSHABALALA PAYOUT OVER THE YEARS
Standard Bank’s top seven executives earned nearly R500-million last year, with Group CEO Sim Tshabalala taking home R106-million.
Most of this pay comes from long-term bonuses linked to performance targets set three years ago.
The R106-million he received for 2025 is the highest pay package of his career at Standard Bank.
2022 — R55.7-million
2023 — R83.3-million
2024 — R89.2million
2025 — R106.4-million
The 2025 spike is largely explained by the vesting of his Performance Reward Plan (PRP) awards granted in March 2023, which paid out at 152% of their target value - meaning the three-year performance conditions were significantly exceeded.
Without that long-term incentive payout, his underlying fixed and short-term pay has remained relatively stable.
