Today has certainly been an adventure with all the travel delays and rebooking of flights. Not a big deal until you realize @AmericanAir left your luggage on the tarmac during a thunderstorm @CLTAirport and now you’re in your hotel trying to dry out your clothes!
@howie_hua 30 + 80 = 110 & 9 + 4 = 13, then 110+13 = 123! I love these posts because in the past I would’ve focused only on solving one way. Now I like to play around with different strategies to see what works best at that time.
4th and 5th grade teachers... this is part of building the conceptual understanding! We must stop rushing kids to the algorithm as a simple (better yet complicated) procedure that they struggle with!
What an amazing day! East Aiken School of the Arts hosted a Math Rocks day organized by 1st grade teacher and math rockstar, Christie McWaters and her team! @LisaFallaw’s team created a day was filled with so many opportunities for students to…
measure length, measure weight, collect data, graph data, analyze data, use probability, compare their results, use a variety of strategies and cooperation to build towers, bridges or fly airplanes! “This is cool!” and “This day is the best!” were heard again and again!
A highlight for the day was working together to make cloud slime! Students had to follow the recipe and use precise measurements to make it. Phenomenal job by the EASOA administration, faculty, and staff! Students engagement levels were off the charts! #EASOA#ACPSD
