@drantbradley I think this is bc districts are making breaks longer, bc when there are partial week breaks, often kids will miss additional days that week, which means schools paid based on daily attendance lose that $$. Instructional year gets expanded to meet required days with more breaks.

@meathead in my experience it’s not as much about gas vs charcoal as it is *cheap* gas vs charcoal. the cheap gas grills I had just had no heat. Basically outdoor ovens. The mileage you get from a $150 charcoal grill vs $150 gas is vast

quality gas grills are a totally different story

@garonnevik Yes! we have instituted the tradition of "winter decorations" after epiphany. take down the nativity etc but leave the tree and lights (inside and out) until things start to grow outside. Why deprive yourself of joy through the two worst months of the year
