I get it. Tough job, not everyone will do it.
We make mistakes as coaches, our players make mistakes..but there’s ownership and accountability for both of us when we do.
At some point someone has to hold the umpires accountable for the moments like this that are happening way too often in our sport.
The world says they should get a free pass, so they get it.
Somewhere in the process we forgot about the people who are really paying the price - the players.
They work 10 months out of the year for 25 days in the month of May. Only to get this from adults who get paid to give both teams their absolute best for 3 hours.
Have to do better.
Know this won’t be popular, but it needed to be said.

In 2012, MLB tested out the idea of allowing each team to pick one time in each game where a batter could swing an invisible bat and pretend to hit what would count as a real home run.
Some people loved it but most thought it was really stupid.
