Devastated to have lost two colleagues last night. Deeply grateful for the incredible support from the Canadian aviation and labour community. The fallen will live in our hearts. May they rest in peace.
Today my labour sensibility leads me to think of the Persian people. Because their government doesn’t reflect who they truly are, I think of a people whose hospitality knows no bounds, whose culture enriches the world, and who are sadly and consequentially terribly misunderstood.
As the Winter Olympics get going, I made a bet on the men’s hockey tournament with @ALPACanada president @tim_f_perry. Whoever’s team does worse has to wear the other country’s ALPA flag tie at our next Executive Board meeting.
Let’s go @USAHockey!
Plus de 300 pilotes d'Air Transat se sont mobilisés aujourd'hui à YUL et YYZ.
J'étais au micro du @le985fm à l'émission La Commission pour expliquer les raisons derrières cette demonstration publique ⬇️

Proud to speak in support of @TSCPilotes. The 13.5 thousand @ALPACanada pilots will not stand for @airtransat delays in reaching a fair contract. No more discount labour.
ALPA Canada president @tim_f_Perry delivers remarks during the informational picket for Transat pilots; “I have a message for Transat management: Undervaluing your pilots is bad business…and if you don’t believe me, keep doing what you’re doing.”
Sad to share the news of Marc Garneau, former Minister and first Canadian in space, passing away earlier today. He was a leader, a dedicated safety advocate and profoundly decent man. My thoughts are with his family and everyone whose life he touched.

@MarkJCarney Don’t let @WestJet abuse the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. We must all work together to ensure @ALPACanada is part of the solution to help @WestJet Encore fix their pilot attraction & retention problems. https://t.co/4d2Ysl4ird #cdnpoli
@MarkJCarney@WestJet management is working to undermine collective bargaining rights and labour standards. Do not let them deflect from their operational issues by abusing the Temporary Foreign Worker Program! https://t.co/4d2Ysl4ird #cdnpoli
Trump tariffs, above all, hurt workers. Sadly this is the case on both sides of our boarder, but while this point goes unheeded by the US administration as March 4th comes and goes, for our part we must now embrace each other, as pilots, as workers, as Canadians. Now and forever.
Not sure who needs to hear this but @alpacanada pilots are trained and qualified professionals, not DEI hires. Tragic accidents and incidents must be investigated by the trained professionals whose job is to do just that so we can learn and make aviation safer. Period.
Meanwhile in 🇨🇦 where it’s -20 CELSIUS on #louisriel long weekend, out for a skate on the frozen Red River after taking in French Canadian folk music at La Festival du Voyageur with family and soon going out for local dining at #rawalmond. Yes, I am Canadian, proudly and forever.
Honour to meet Nunavut Premier @AkeeagokPj1828 today in DC discussing Labour and Canada/US trade with @CanadianLabour & @AFLCIO. I lived in Nunavut as a child and as a professional pilot. We agree that while challenges exist, huge opportunities are before us. @ALPACanada.
Proud to represent @ALPACanada pilots at the Prime Minsiter’s Council on US-Canada trade. Facing US tariff threats falls upon all of us but with business, labour, and gov collaboration, we will ensure a prosperous future. Transportations jobs are essential to our prosperity.
Today, along with @tim_f_perry, @CATCA5454 released a White Paper with the goal of rebuilding Canada's aviation sector.
It's time to put safety and service back in focus, and put workers and passengers first. Read our Paper here: https://t.co/WSiuUYEqMs
Today, with Nick von Schoenberg @catcapres from @CATCA5454, @ALPACanada released a White Paper with recommendations to bring our air sector's focus back to safety and service. It's time to put people first; aviation workers and those who rely on the system https://t.co/0GNKTcNbiM
It does’t take much to show support for workers standing for fair wages, safe working conditions and dignified retirement. No matter your walk of life, we must all stand for these things and our county must stand for them too. Workers stand with workers #supportCUPW@ALPACanada
