Winnie: you’re a good dog, and for eight years I’ve been your human. The first time we met, you walked up, sat on my foot, and nudged for pets. That’s your move if you loved and trusted someone: walk up, sit on you, and nudge your hand.
She’s gone now and I’ll miss her forever.

If you knew Winnie, and have photos or stories to share please reply this thread or to https://t.co/AyPhEfPMWe. For a very quiet dog, it is amazing how much she impacted other people’s lives.
Thank you.

She’s had a full life. I’m not sad because of the experiences Winnie will miss, but I am sad that I will miss experiencing them with Winnie.
She was a special part of the universe. She made it better, and she made me better. I love you Winnie.
Goodbye.
Winnie was aloof but approachable. Many called her “Queen”, but she was a benevolent dictator. She did it all for the head pats and affection of humans. She came with me, daily, to HFA headquarters in Brooklyn and would roam the office visiting her doting subjects.
The adoption papers said her name was Witchie, but the foster called her Winnie. It stuck, but she’s had nicknames too: Winifred, the Winster, Winnie Bear, little wolf, 小黑 xiao hei (little black). By any name, she was twelve pounds of floofy fur and unconditional love.
