“Failure is easy. Success is way harder than managing failure. People believe when you do good, you have earned the right to do less. With success, you earn the right to do more."
Success is not just about reaching a goal. It's about a commitment to continuous improvement.

The best way to deal with misinformation is to expose people to all sides of the argument and let the truth shine through. It always does. Science isn’t truth. It’s the process and search for truth. Leaders seek and share truth.
THOUGHTS ON COMMAND
How often have we heard this? “He’s got a great arm,if he could throw the ball over the plate, he’d really be good.”
1 We need to be better at quantifying command
2 We need to be better coaching it
3 We need to find the balance between the mental & physical
When standing on the pitcher’s mound, the answer to this diagram is simple.
1. BREATHE - focused breathing brings you to the present moment.
2. COMMIT - see the pitch you want to make and nothing else. Aggressively attack the target.
Breathe & Commit. One pitch at a time.
Cleaning out my files last night & I found this doc from Mike Gillespie when he was the Head Baseball Coach at USC. These WERE the rules & not just a bunch of words on paper. Great stuff. Enjoy!!

Listen to him talk about his mindset as a skill. No different than a physical skill, it takes daily practice and intention to acquire and maintain it. This is so impressive for a young player to be able to understand ego, pride, and humility in a way that is meaningful to him.
Pitchers - when you feel the urge to make a perfect pitch, understand that is usually the voice of fear in your head. Step off and regroup. The game rarely, if ever, requires a perfect pitch. Your best outings will result from you winning counts with good, not perfect pitches.
