@DineshDSouza Predestination and Election are not temporal events like regeneration, for they are found in the divine decree of the eternal Godhead in eternity past.
@DineshDSouza It literally means "born from above" (heaven)—the Holy Spirit gives new life in regeneration, making the spiritually dead alive in Christ.
It is a prerequisite act of God in conversion (though some would say simultaneous with repentance and faith) that happens in real time.
