New podcast episode! @timothykrell and I discuss an interesting idea called the "Parish Grid" which proposes turning the UK churches into AI data centers.

New episode of Wading Through AI is up! This time, Demetri and I discuss the concerns people have about relying on AI for their work:

Pharaoh and Moses.
Reckless Ben and Ammon McNeff.
Let my LEGO's Go!
This is how massive the Reckless Ben situation is.
The line with 898k is when Elon Musk quoted me.
The line on the right with 3.6M impressions is from talking about Reckless Ben and Bricks and Minifigs.
Do you think Joshua Johnson, Ammon McNeff and Brandon Best truly understand how massive of a dumpster fire this whole situation is? Do you think Joshua Johnson understands the power of a younger YouTuber yet?
The only thing that could possibly even come close to saving this company and all the innocent franchise owners in the path of their destruction is for BAM to compensate for the stolen LEGO, immediately dismiss any court case against Ben Schneider and issue a video from Ammon McNeff genuinely owning this and apologizing.
I don't think that anything will ever recover the brand at this point. But it's the only way this thing might just disappear as quickly as possible.
But I doubt the Bricks and Minifigs leadership has the humility.
At this point they remind me of Pharaoh where each plague brought by Moses just hardens Pharaoh's heart even more.
It's amazing to see.
@paleochristcon I agree. I'm low key bummed how you handled the David Wood discussion. I think there was a real opportunity there for you to meaningfully make the discourse less crappy (still is, maybe), and I think you fumbled it.
These announcement announcements really hit me out of left field. Wish he would announce the announcement announcements so it's not quite so unexpected in the future.
@SteveSkojec Yeah. For sure. It takes a bit more thorough combing through the video now. Getting pretty convincing. At this point if it's less than 20 seconds or made up of a few cuts that are less than 20 seconds, it's likely AI. Lol.
I love artists who just do it. I can’t play piano so love when musicians play classical music at my house. Imagine if every pianist starting whining that the universe is unfair because they weren’t paid.
99.9% of the art I’ve made didn’t make money. I’ve made millions on that tiny percentage I was paid for. But I wouldn’t have made anything for 35 years if I wasn’t willing to do the vast majority for free.
It’s so weird how this new era of technology completely ignores the human involved. This person talks about this as if the computer just built itself! Extreme anthropomorphism.
Wow. This is crazy.
A developer trained an AI agent in simulation and deployed it onto a real robotic air hockey table using reinforcement learning.
This robot can track the puck with millimeter-level accuracy and react in roughly 20 milliseconds, fast enough to challenge even skilled human players.
We’re moving from robots that follow programmed rules to machines that learn strategies in simulation and execute them in the physical world.
@DougTenNapel This is even more impressive since this is round three or four of you making a very successful channel then getting banned then starting from scratch, right?
Personally, I think we should pass legislation that says if you trained on publicly available data that was copyrighted, then you have to make the models freely available.
AI is "Degenerate Intellectual Communism"
@BretWeinstein argues that AI is being deployed as a kind of "degenerate intellectual communism" that takes from human creators according to ability, then charges them for access.
Why are there so many impressive Orthobro experts on YouTube? Let me count the ways… (You can add more in the comments section.
1. All of the Prot and RC “experts” with PhDs and stuff have day jobs working for institutions that pay them salaries. Orthodoxy is so new (and relatively poor institutionally and economically in America) that their brightest and best (but not necessarily monastic or holy) are hustling for clicks on YouTube and other media platforms to make a daily wage.
2. Orthodoxy IS the growing edge of American (Protestant) Christianity already. Non-denominational was the last gasp of an old Protestant chapter and so (with deep irony) Orthodoxy has come along to fill the gap.
3. Orthodoxy’s hierarchical leadership (remember Bishops and up must be monastics and the most venerated monasteries will be in the Old World) is disconnected from the social-media-blood-sport-arena (by design, Old World monasteries have bad WiFi …) and therefore can’t (mercifully) play in the childish reindeer games of Twitter and YouTube reaction videos.
OK, those three will get you started…

96% of patients declared COMPLETE REMISSION of alpha-gal syndrome after ear acupuncture — lasting months to years.
Basically EVERYONE in the study could eat meat again within weeks of undergoing Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT).
There were ZERO adverse reactions.
