When I was but a young lad we had chickens.
We did not buy feed for them. They just ate bugs out of the yard. They survived.
But apparently Big Chicken has convinced people that “ohmygerd they will die if we don’t go and buy 40 pounds of bespoke corn from
Argentina”
It’s a fucking chicken man. They will eat anything
@danceyrselfdean I was listening to Dan Deacon and Genesis by Grimes on repeat. Just discovered Alt J. It was an amazing year in NPRs Top 50 Albums of the Year.
It was the last good one.
Liberals will ask, "Why can't you just enjoy it?" at the same time other Liberals post, "Everything I do in life is with the intention of making you miserable".
People are not angry because they can't enjoy things. They are angry because they correctly understand that the things they once loved are being converted into weapons for an ideology that hates them.
There is a very obvious sadistic side to Progressivism's hijacking of things like movies and video games. These people do not love the media they're destroying. They're not trying to make something good. They just want revenge against the normal world.
They want the actual fans to feel alienated and dispossessed. That's the entire point.
And every so often, someone is bold enough to admit it.
@eigenrobot@lumpenspace@UsingLyft I agree with hanania on loads of stuff but i do approach him with the understanding that he's as materialist as materialists get. Bone-deep. He would plug people into the matrix
My dumb idea of the day:
We should establish something like birthstones, but for men.
Instead of each month getting a gemstone, each month gets assigned a cut of meat.
January: New York Strip
February: Filet Mignon
March: Porterhouse
And so on.
You’d ask a guy his birthday and instead of saying, “Oh, you’re an amethyst,” you’d say, “Ah, February. Filet Mignon. Sensitive, expensive, and a little smaller than expected.”
I can hear the commercials already
“Celebrate his birth month with the timeless elegance of brisket.”
A new report on billion-dollar companies shows that a full two-thirds are founded by immigrants or the children of immigrants.
Here's the most amazing part: "There is generally no reliable way under U.S. immigration law for foreign nationals to start a business and remain in the country after founding a company. Successful immigrant entrepreneurs in America are almost always refugees or family-sponsored and employer-sponsored immigrants."
Translation: immigrants are driving the American economy through their entrepreneurship, but we're not even selecting for entrepreneurship.
Immigration is so beneficial to the country that just by accident we're getting a system that is producing an endless list of billion dollar companies.
Imagine if we selected for entrepreneurship! There's so much to be gained here.
Instead, we have idiots attacking H1B visas, which are one of the more meritocratic parts of the system, despite its flaws. Even a flawed immigration system is much better than not welcoming people in, because immigration is just that beneficial.
He’s not “a Black man” he’s a sad sack everyman who happens to be black because Chiwetel Ejiofor is a great actor who brings class to an indie project. If they’d cast a white guy you’d be complaining about the lack of diversity. No one wants to play this unwinnable game any more.
