@ballmatthew@stephentotilo Yeah exactly. Once you have a game that retains and monetizes very well (which is really hard!) then you can aggressively lean into marketing and crowd out the competition. They executed exceptionally well on lots of fronts here.

@ballmatthew@stephentotilo One important factor is that almost all of the Monopoly Go marketing happened after the game launched, so they knew could spend <$500M profitably and recoup within weeks/months (vs spending a lot up front to make a game and having a big risk it might fail)

New policy states that minors can only play games for one hour on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 8pm to 9pm.
