BBC six o’clock news tonight.
It’s good that the frame of terrorism is being used. Particularly as more mayhem is presently being organised. https://t.co/AGO2QqrUVz
Our military-industrial complex thrives on the profits of war. Defense contractors influence our foreign policy through relentless lobbying and generous campaign contributions, pushing us from one conflict into the next.
This cycle of profit-driven warfare must end.
Hitler convinced Germany in the 1930's that all of Germany's problems were caused by Jews.
Farage and co are trying the same thing in the UK with immigrants.
We all know Hitler was wrong, why are we not seeing that Farage is wrong?
Stand up to the far right now.

They came after me with the cat lady shit too. So please just sit down & listen.
Misogyny is one of the deadliest weapons on earth. Misogyny is electoral interference. Misogyny is a national security threat so lethal we can’t even see it.

If we had proportional representation for elections, people would not have to resort to protesting on the roads. Their important views would be represented in parliament.
Labour members and the Unions now want PR. So why has Starmer blocked it? Eh?? @getprdone
He's out of touch. I mean does KS have a clue what it feels like having an MP represent you who you didn't vote for - even has the opposite views. So that is happening to 6 out of 10 of us. @getprdone I'd you want an MP that really represents you. @Labour4PR
So Starmer wants to keep #FPTP because of the “very special” constituency link, but then kicks his MPs out the party for voting in line with their constituencies?!
Is this the death throes of the last ever Labour faux majority government? It’s a car crash. #GetPRDone
2024-07-23: King's Speech (Motion for an Address): Amendment (k)
The 84 MPs voting 'Aye' represented 9,908,248 voters.
The 380 MPs voting 'No' represented 9,216,704 voters.
Aye majority = 691,544
But result was No because seats don't match votes.

Peaceful climate protestors do not belong in prison and over 1,000 public figures across academic , cultural and political circles agree . @AttorneyGeneral , please meet with us urgently to right this grotesque wrong . #WholeTruthFive https://t.co/yUpomzAyCy
I hope I’m wrong but this week feels like a dark inflection point for America. The tech bros have got their man on the presidential ticket.
My piece for @ObserverUK on the tech billionaires backing Trump. Welcome to the broligarchy.

Angela Rayner, "It's an honour of my life to address this house as the first time as the Deputy Prime Minister"
"We've been given a mandate by the British people to turn the page on 14 years of chaos and start a new chapter that they deserve"
"I know first hand how government can change lives for the better.. I say that not as a politician but as someone whose own life was changed for the better by the previous Labour government.. And I am determined to do the same for others"
Well said and good luck @AngelaRayner 👏
Yes, 100% right on the risk of Farage.
"The powers that be" in a democracy have to be us, the people - not those currently not letting go, who should be representing us with our diverse voices!
It's times like this when the ask for #PR seems the most gentle, reasonable first step anyone could ask for.
But no, the powers that be prefer to risk a Farage 33.7% majority than a functioning democracy as shown below.
Labour should follow their members, the unions and many of their own MPs and back proportional representation in this parliament. https://t.co/4OYXbeQZj4
The point of democracy is to a allow everyone to be represented in govt. Currently only a minority is represented. We need to @getprdone and allow climate activists to have a political voice.
34% OF THE VOTE, 63% OF THE SEATS, 100% OF THE POWER
If you agree that we need to make ALL votes matter, add your name to the call for #ProportionalRepresentation!

We now have competent adults leading the country. A week after the election, we have a fully formed and installed Government and our Prime Minister, Keir Starmer is operating on the world stage. God it feels good. Who else thinks this?
How come he doesn't know that each one of us has our own unique set of attitudes and opinions? Does he know that the job of MPs is to represent us in government with our diverse opinions? So impossible with one party.
@MakeVotesMatter
Robert Buckland, "I want the Conservative party to remain true to it's historic roots.. Which is to be the party of our nation.. To serve the country.. To bring it together rather than drive it apart"
😅 Where's he been for the past 14 years 🤷♂️
@implausibleblog Don't think Question time has had such an educated member of the audience for a long time notice the host trying to rush and shut him down
