It never ceases to amaze me that Eli Roth has fans. He’s never made anything good; the lone bright spot in his career is replacing Adam Sandler in Inglorious Basterds. He has all the loathsome bits people hate about Tarantino with none of the skill or talent
@falseroxy you do anything special with the frozen peas? my old man used to put celery salt on them, and I'm partial to putting in those little pearl onions.
@Chinchillazllla@mollywidstrom Alcohol is such a big part of social life that I feel weird if people don't drink around me because they know I'm sober.
@GrimKim South Carolina has always been weird as shit. Up until the mid 2000s, bars only served liquor from mini airplane bottles, which meant you could only order the most brain dead cocktails like jack and coke.
@alexskopic I just watched The Celebration for the first time a few days ago. I can't imagine that story being told in any other way than in the Dogma 95 style.

@goddammitsarah I feel like everyone should have a copy of Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook, and the "How to Cook Everything" series by Mark Bittman is great for reference, but my favorite single subject cookbook is "Bitter: A Taste of the World's Most Dangerous Flavor"
@AGoldmund Pivotal moment in my radicalization: reading Emily Gabfest Bazelon's NYT magazine article about trans kids and realizing that libs just don't give a shit about anything but propriety and procedure.
