The @PlanetMicroCap / @MicroCapClub conference in Vegas was unbelievable - great idea generation and networking. Huge thanks to @BobbyKKraft and @iancassel for putting on the best event in microcap investing.
$PETS - Profiled a month ago and sold earlier this week. After another quarter, I believe the turnaround going to be much harder and longer than originally thought. Never my intention to profile something and sell it a month later so I want to be transparent.

@bullsbayretail I agree. This was really more that I think the market overreacted to Q2 and I think Q3 and Q4 might optically be worse even if the business improves. I’m small, I can afford to nimble. I’m still keeping tabs on them
@bullsbayretail@paulcerro Thanks! There will be more clarity on if the turnaround will be successful after they report on 11/6. It’s historically a very profitable business, all that needs to happen is refocusing on the core biz.
@Fenmagne I pretty extensively covered how competitive this industry is in the write up. They didn’t lose $10M last quarter. GAAP net income was $3.5M. CFO was ($8500). Which include SBC reversal and huge WC changes in APs.
@ValdivianCap Thanks. I can’t guess acquirers, that’s too hard. But when run well, they are a cash generating pet pharmacy with 2 million customers and 28 years of data. That’s gotta have value to someone.
@ToSt_1989@SebKrog@nevergr33dy I'm not getting too hung up on valuation in a turnaround. Before the bad CEO, EBITDA margins were in the 10-19% range. Give them 10% margins on a $270M revenue base - $27M EBITDA. Say a 6X multiple for competition/microcap/etc - still around 100% upside.
