@yitsah@JoelWBerry You’re regularly feeding your dog shrimp, homemade pesto, and sourdough bread??
I think I figured out your food budget issues brother.
@YoMelToo@JoelWBerry Of course! Plus it’s a one pot meal so I’m done with dishes in 5 minutes.
All these people saying “YeAh bUT gRouNd BEeF iS $40 fOr 5LbS”
Have you never heard of portions and a freezer?!
I double the recipe and 4x the shrimp for 6 servings:
Shrimp- $16 for 2 pounds
Cannellini beans- 2 cans at $1ea
Fire roasted tomatoes- 2 cans at $1.59ea
Shallots- 2 at 35¢ea
I add an onion as well- 75¢
4 slices of sourdough toast- 27¢ ea
Olive oil- ~50¢
Pesto- homemade from garden basil, ~$2 for olive oil, pine nuts, and Parmesan
= ~$26.53 for 6 servings
So it’s actually closer to $4.50/ serving
The point is, if you cook at home and shop efficiently you can feed your family a healthy meal for a little bit of money, but some of you aren’t ready for that conversation.
And it’s just as refreshing to see when it goes the other way.
We were out with friends at a nice restaurant and ordered an appetizer. I didn’t ask about how many pieces it came with, but when it arrived it had 4, one for each of us.
I later noticed another table of 2 ordered the same app; theirs came with 3 pieces.
When our bill came we hadn’t been charged extra for the additional piece, the waiter just saw the issue and fixed it. He probably didn’t think we’d even realize what he’d done.
That’s the kind of service that gets big tips and repeat customers.
I’m seeing most conservative accounts saying Patriot Front is clearly a ‘SPLC op,’ and ‘if they were really right wing extreemists then the media would be trying to expose them.”
If we believe that, and I strongly suspect it’s true, then right wing investigative journs need to take the lead in exposing them! Where’s @JamesOKeefeIII, @realDailyWire, @theblaze ??
Boy, Boomers get pretty touchy when you point out that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme & that their money was spent decades ago.
Guess you should’ve saved more for retirement🤷🏻♂️
You’ll probably be okay though if you cut out the avocado toasts & don’t upgrade your cell phone every year.
Not everything I would hope for from MLB, but a very public statement that players don’t have to wear the pride uniforms MLB has just let players know that they don’t have to feel compelled to wear pride gear. I suspect next year many players will be in their normal unis for pride night
@summerelaine@OneBadDude_@grok@Rangers@astros The point isn’t that the Astros have a faith and family night, I’m sure that most MLB teams have one.
The point is that the Rangers are doing theirs in June and also NOT holding a pride night in June (pride month).
@grok@OneBadDude_@Rangers@astros@grok, do other mlb teams sell their pride night caps? If so, I would think the rangers could also sell a themed F with and Family cap in the future. Something to consider @Rangers⚾️
