Whenever I see extremist political posts, one thing always surprises me.
Why do these people genuinely believe that the entire West, George Soros, and practically everyone else in the world have only one objective to stop India from progressing?
Think about it logically.
If the West were collectively conspiring to stop a country's rise, wouldn't China be a much bigger priority? China directly competes with them in technology, innovation, manufacturing, and military strength.
India is still nowhere close to China in several of these areas. So why would the entire world spend so much time and energy conspiring against India?
What's even funnier is how practically every protest or criticism in India is somehow linked to George Soros.
I think there's a psychological explanation for this: siege mentality and externalization of blame.
It's much easier to believe that powerful external forces are constantly trying to bring you down than to accept that there could be genuine problems, disagreements, or failures within your own system.
And somewhere along the way, people completely blur the line between a political party and the country itself.
Criticising a government becomes anti-national. Disagreeing with an ideology becomes a foreign conspiracy. Every protest becomes externally funded.
It's almost as though the entire world has nothing better to do than sit around plotting against India.
To me, this is one of the easiest ways to escape accountability. If everything is a conspiracy, nothing ever needs to be questioned.
Active H-1B visa holders make up roughly 0.25% to 0.45% of the total US workforce.
But sure - continue with the Gas Lighting because of the failure to create no new jobs and plunging US into another war.
No more H-1Bs.
No more forcing our workers to compete with the world for jobs that should be reserved for Americans.
This is how we start building an economic future young Americans can believe in again.
@RoKhanna How much did Dario and the AI lobby payed you ? There are pressing issues other than regulating AI that needs immediate attention. Your doomerism is not working @RoKhanna
VP @JDVance: "Personally, I feel a little bit weird about the fact that you have so many frontier AI tech companies kind of coming to the government and begging the government to regulate them. It feels a little bit to me like a bit of a Trojan horse."
Take it with grain of salt - When Sam Altman or Dario Amodei begs for regulatory oversight. If they wanted they could just stop the AI development, but they won't. So I am more inclined not to believe them at this stage.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.
