@daraobriain @almurray That might have been the best thing about the first generation of BR multiple unit trains and the first generation of Newcastle Metro units where you could sit at the front next to the driver. In both cases the new units "improved" things by robbing passengers of this view.

@MrTimDunn My Dad's from Harwich so I we went there at least once a year to visit the ancestors. I remember watching freight being shunted onto the ferry a couple of evenings- probably while eating chips. Now the pier's a ruin and the track's built over sorry to say.

@RWLDproject Tony Scott's last film. Writing's a bit first draft and the contrivances grate (it's based on a real incident and IMHO would have been more interesting and involving if it cleaved closer to the truth) but it passes the time.
