An open letter to YouTube.

We need to talk.

Creators are waking up to terminated channels, wiped revenues, and years of work gone overnight. No warning. No explanation. No appeal that actually works.

So on behalf of every creator who has ever put their life into this platform, here are our demands.

1. Tell us WHY.
A termination email with zero context is not a policy. If you are going to end someone's livelihood, the least you can do is explain what they actually did wrong.

2. Fix the appeals process.
Right now appealing a strike feels like shouting into a void. An automated rejection in 24 hours is not a review. We want real humans making real decisions.

3. Stop punishing whole channels for one video.
One bad upload should not erase five years of content. Strike the video. Don't delete the creator.

4. Give us a warning before termination.
A strike system exists for a reason. Use it. Creators should not be going from zero issues to fully terminated with no steps in between.

5. Be transparent about what is changing.
Every few months the rules quietly shift and channels start disappearing. Tell us what changed. We are not mind readers.

6. Protect the creators who built this platform.
YouTube would not exist without creators. The people losing their channels right now are not bad actors. Many of them are the reason people still open the app.

We are not asking for special treatment.

We are asking to be treated like partners, not liabilities.

Neal Mohan publicly talks about YouTube making “record profits,” but forgets to mention where a huge part of that money suddenly came from.

Since the 2025 policy changes, YouTube didn’t introduce any revolutionary updates that massively increased platform value:
• No huge new audience influx
• No groundbreaking creator features
• No major innovations bringing record growth

Yet somehow profits exploded.

Why?

Because thousands of creators were demonetized while YouTube continued running ads on their videos and keeping 100% of the revenue.

That’s the part nobody wants to talk about.

The most absurd part is this:
The same content YouTube labels as “inauthentic” continues getting pushed by the algorithm.
➡️ It still gets recommended
➡️ Still finds new viewers
➡️ Still gets likes, comments, engagement
➡️ Still earns money for YouTube

So if the content is supposedly “bad,” “spam,” or “inauthentic,” then why does the algorithm continue promoting it?

And then creators are told:
“Wait 90 days and appeal again.”

But during those 90 days:
• The creator loses income
• The channel continues generating ad revenue
• YouTube keeps all the profit
• And by the time monetization MAYBE returns, the channel is often already exhausted by the algorithm

Meanwhile large creators with repetitive formats, repeated thumbnail structures, recycled series concepts, compilation channels, and mass-produced entertainment formats continue staying fully monetized without problems.

So where exactly is the line?

Why are smaller creators punished while massive creators doing extremely similar content structures remain protected?

And before anyone twists the point:
Most creators were never trying to replace humans completely. People simply used modern tools to improve editing, visuals, workflow, storytelling, thumbnails, or production quality.

That is still work.
That is still creativity.
That is still content creation.

So YouTube, what exactly are the real rules anymo

Creators are being mass demonetized by broken AI systems and receiving copy-paste bot replies instead of real human reviews — while ads CONTINUE running on their videos every single day.

Read that again:
❗ YouTube says creators are “inauthentic”
❗ But still pushes their videos
❗ Still recommends them
❗ Still places ads on them
❗ Still profits from them

This is no longer only a creators’ problem.
This becomes YOUR problem too.

Because when creators can no longer afford editors, animation, production, artists, software, teams, and content pipelines — your favorite channels slowly disappear.

No videos.
No projects.
No entertainment.
No community.

And all of this because of automated systems making decisions about people’s livelihoods.
