This is my personal memory of 16 December 2014 . I remember that I was 11 12 years old on 16 December 2014 studying in one of the APS campuses. That day Papa came early to pick me and my siblings up from school. As soon as he saw us he hugged all of us and started crying sitting on the ground. I had never seen my father cry not even at my grandmother’s death.
I felt that something must have happened at home so I asked him, but he didn’t answer. By evening we started hearing some news that something had happened at APS Peshawar. I asked again but no one gave any answer. My mother said that no one would use the computer today and that everyone should go to sleep early.
That evening, with restlessness in my heart I went to sleep early. At night, my eyes opened around 10 o’clock and I quickly got up, turned on the computer and started searching. When I saw the visuals one after another my heart began to sink. I kept watching and crying until the morning azan, because they were wearing the same uniform that me and my siblings used to wear every day but it was covered in blood.
So many years have passed, but even today I remember that night exactly the sam cold, cruel, merciless. In Pakistan’s history the APS tragedy is a horrifying memory. We lost people children, civilians, and soldiers but my nation stood tall then and still stands tall now. Nothing could ever break our spirit.
When Israel blocks flotillas carrying aid, it’s not “security,” it’s piracy.
When it sprays activists with skunk water, it’s the same cruelty Palestinians endure daily.
International law means nothing if governments won’t act.
Now that it’s your citizens, will you move?
IMAGINE SENDING 20 WARSHIPS TO INTERCEPT BOATS CARRYING MILK POWDER AND BABY FORMULA FOR STARVING CHILDREN. THIS IS THE GREATEST EVIL EXISTING IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW!!!!!
How many lives. How many childhoods. How many pregnancies. All the joy of having a child, all the pain of losing a child. All the trauma the survivors carry. All the guilt we bear. Humanity failed them all.
Nothing gonna disappoint you more than having expectations on human. You think everything will be alright when you will be with particular person, you've that particular thing. No! Always ask khayr for you from Allah before having any expectations on worldly things.
