If a student asks you for an accommodation (ex. an extension) because of their mental health, what do you do? I'll tell you what I do. 1. Validate 2. Accommodate 3. THANK them for prioritizing their mental health! Teach youth that something positive comes out of asking for help.

There’s nothing standard about this year. Ss grew & what they missed will be made up in years to come bc Ss are resilient & Ts are amazing. Ss deserve to have every remaining day dedicated to their individual needs, not an arbitrary test unrelated to current times.
Independent reading is not about a level; it’s not about a certain number of minutes. Independent reading is that reading we do that helps us develop independent thoughts - not thoughts directed by anyone else. #g2great
