@HackingDave I was thinking a while ago about this technique its usefulness for wilderness SAR, if the missing person has a smart watch with BT/BLE.

But in an urban environment, detection ranges drop. 800ft in open air might be doable, but put the emitter in a basement and maybe not.

Still takes too long if you're trying to get on the gas quick, which leads to the car lurching forward as it cranks, which is probably GREAT on the transmission.
