@BBCBreaking We appreciate their resignation. However, it’s such malpractice especially coming from the highest offices that makes us doubt BBC when they say, “we are unbiased”. Brand building is tough. We wish you all the best as you reclaim your name.
I am pleased with the progress report presented by the Gender Protection and Implementation Committee during their full board meeting at Talanta Plaza, Nairobi, this afternoon.
Significant strides have been made, including fostering gender inclusivity within sports federations and teams and establishing a toll-free number for anonymous reporting of gender-based violence (GBV) by sportsmen, sportswomen, their families, or associates.
I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to eradicating GBV in sports and creating a safe, inclusive environment for all athletes
@WorldAthletics hello, I am doing a study on super shoes and would like to ask whether you have data on which super shoe winning marathoners have used since 2018 at the world majors. Thank you
@runnersworld hey, I am interested in knowing the type of super shoes used by marathon winners in the world majors since 2018? Where would I get that data? Thank you

I honestly didn’t want to comment on the ongoing killings in Kenya of young women, but after reading so much bile on twitter I decided to say my own, the killings didn’t start now, it’s been happening for years…. from crimes of passion, kidnappings, organ harvesting, domestic violence… etc
So many unsuspecting women have sadly fallen victims, times are really hard, the economy isn’t at its best, cost of living is extremely high and we’ve just come out of a pandemic lockdown two years ago, which was traumatic for most people.
But it’s most unfortunate and heart breaking to see fellow human beings justifying killings on moral grounds, there’s no justification in killing a fellow human being, man or woman, a moral or immoral person.
It’s sad when someone says that they deserved it for their greed of money, the ladies in question are children who were born into a society and a time where men taught them that the language of love is money, they don’t know any different, we’ve failed them as a society and are here demonizing the victims for sins of our own making as a society.
Honestly has anyone not wondered why this girls freely share their stories on social media like it’s normal lifestyle? Society failed them, their parents failed them, religion failed them, the government failed them, what we can do now for the future generations is bring up ladies who are career driven and shun handouts, because eventually it will become a habit that they can’t break from and will never hold decent jobs because real jobs won’t pay as much as the street hustles… that they start while in university, with full knowledge of the risks involved.
Lastly the tone and conversation on social media and the airwaves for years now, between men & women has been vile and full of hatred (fear women movement) sometimes I wonder how did it get this bad?! No trust, so much bitter comments towards women, granted some women have fallen short, but not all women, how do we continue to demonize all women and wonder when women get killed without a care in the world, when we spew such vile utterances about women (who are your sisters, wives, daughters and mothers) it conditions the boy child negatively, the same way the girl child was lured in handouts by older men, it’s a vicious cycle that I pray those in power or with the platform to do something about it, start taking serious action to change the future.
The killings won’t stop until we stop hating on one another.
There’re so many contributing factors why girls choose this lifestyles, let’s have that conversation and find solutions collectively and implement the solutions within each family units and collectively change the narrative of a doomed society.
Hate begets hate, tolerance begets tolerance and understanding begets understanding. 🙏🏽
