@sakshiraathi@scottmelker Because now Nova Labs (Helium Mobile) can focus solely on growing the decentralized Helium Network that ANY carrier can use to offload traffic to and burn $HNT
@FIRsilverback@dylangbane "there is no point to $HNT" Wrong. For every gigabyte of data flowing over the Helium Network, $HNT has to be burned. That has ALWAYS been the case. So many people don't get that. Helium the decentralized network and Helium Mobile, have always been two separate things
@BidAsk_Spread Yeah, I'm seeing that. I also see how Nova brought back Discord. I see they recently started a program to help large deployers with brownfield installs. For me, that tells me they are dedicated to growing the Network.
I've been deploying since 2020. Nova Labs has no quit!
Worth reposting, as so many people just don't understand that burning $HNT is required in order to send cellular traffic over any Helium powered hotspot.
This has ALWAYS been how it's worked.
Helium Mobile is an MVNO, a consumer cellular product. subscribers pay in fiat currency and get a phone number, a SIM card, etc
the Helium Network is a network of community owned Hotspots that serve cellular traffic for multiple carriers including AT&T, Telefonica, and also Helium Mobile. Hotspot operators get paid in $HNT burned by the carriers for that traffic
Helium Mobile got sold. The Helium Network and $HNT continue on as before
The fastest way to lose your supporters isn't price action.
It's silence.
I've noticed more and more projects, even ones that are otherwise really solid, treat communication like it's optional.
Nothing kills trust faster.
A few things that tell me a project is going in the wrong direction:
▪️ Updates become rare and stripped of any real detail
▪️ Community questions go unanswered for days or weeks
▪️ Honest criticism from inside the community gets met with blocks or silence
The people who built your community in the first place are usually the ones who never asked for anything in return. They invested their time, their reputation, and their trust before there was anything to show for it.
Ignoring those people is one of the fastest ways to damage a project.
Which projects do you think still communicate openly with their community?
when we first launched Helium Mobile, there wasn’t a single offload user on the @helium network. it was a great way to grow the network and prove out our thesis that WiFi offload for carriers was genuinely useful, and valuable
now the network serves millions of people daily from multiple carriers. I’m excited to see the focus back on $HNT, network growth and international expansion going forward
congrats to @AndrewYang and the entire @joinnoblemobile team today!
This is actually a pretty interesting convergence of telecom infrastructure and crypto incentives. If Helium’s decentralized network model can be integrated into a more mainstream mobile service, it could quietly become one of the first real examples of blockchain tech embedded into everyday consumer utilities rather than just speculative finance.
@TrustlessState@AskVenice@Lighter_xyz How about the OG of DePIN? Helium. Around 3 million phones with subscribers from AT&T, T-Mobile and more are connecting to the network daily without most users even realizing it.
Most of this is inside the US with a current expansion push in Mexico and Brazil
@taggdaddy12@KyleSamani@EliBenSasson Oh, only around 3 million people a day whose phones are connecting to Helium WiFi hotspots without them even realizing. Ya know, just a handful of normies

@Drunken_senseii@KyleSamani@EliBenSasson Yet fundamentals of some top DePIN projects continue to grow, albeit at a slower pace in this bear market.
Weather the storm and be rewarded.

@BobGroyp@amirhaleem If the carriers really want this to work long-term, they need to understand that deployers need enough ongoing financial incentive to continue deploying
