My article on the strategic imaginaries of New International Economic Order #NIEO, is out now with @DipDsaa. It looks at the decision making of the original campaign, and the present attempt by the @ProgIntl to “renovate” it: https://t.co/iQ2KioQ2Ve
@Paul__Hastings@purplepingers VS and SA have collaborated successfully in campaigning. Did not undermine. Is each one attacking the others for not joining “their” single party a solution? When one deserves hegemony of the wider movement it will get it. It’s far too early to “know” which should be “the one”
@Paul__Hastings@purplepingers Thanks comrade. This is actually a valid point. I personally differ and have no issue with multi party socialism. My main issue here is it’s far too early to tell which electoral front should be hegemonic. Maybe when once someone has won a seat or something…
@oxfoxoxfox Crying coz you can’t even register is not giving confidence in ability to do much. Go and do it maybe, without blaming others for simply existing as a party for longer… why not called “Australian socialists” anyway? Sound too much like national socialism 😅
@oxfoxoxfox the main point is, the campaigners have to be divided anyway. Should we all door knock at the same house at the same time for unity? Having two different parties canvasing in different electorates is not less efficient. There is no reason to rush into it at such an early stage.
@oxfoxoxfox Can you explain what is wrong with what I’m saying? The only argument for the merge is “there is no reason not to”. I present reasons and, still no explanation as to why this is wrong.
@oxfoxoxfox@purplepingers Firstly this isn’t about splitting. This is about whether groups should merge. Secondly, I have often heard people say that Labor would be better without its right faction. In UK its left faction has effectively been pushed out… so not sure what you are on about
@purplepingers Step one: attack another socialist party for being “opposed to unity”. Step two: attack another party for putting forward a candidate early 🤡 so much unity 😅
Without slavery you would have no cotton; without cotton you have no modern industry. It is slavery that gave the colonies their value, it is the colonies that created world trade, and world trade is the precondition for large-scale industry.
