Happy Monday! Frank is absolutely losing his SH!T on NextDoor in multiple posts/comments. His original post got shut down bc he went against Community Guidelines. He can’t grasp that ND is a private platform so his version of free speech doesn’t apply. 🤣🤡 @Frank13Enderle#CVUSD
The agenda is out for our Wednesday TTAC meeting where we will be discussing Hillcrest Drive Bike Lanes and Pedestrian Improvements…
Okay, so what are we discussing?
Public outreach has begun as to the Hillcrest portion of the project, with a demonstration phase starting in May.

↪️ PASSED ASSEMBLY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE: AB 2583, which reduces speed limits in school zones to 15 mph, aligning California with the school zone policy in dozens of other states. Introduced by @AsmMarcBerman, this bill passed unanimously with bipartisan support!
"Daylighting can be done cheaply and creatively with simple materials such as bollards, planters, and bike racks. This checklist lists more than 25 materials that can contribute to daylighting projects. Here are some examples of this practice done well across North America."
Excited to see that @CityofTO TTAC will have a discussion on AB 413, a daylighting bill that was signed by @GavinNewsom last October.
What is daylighting? Here’s a great article from my friends at @StrongTowns on it:

The City of Thousand Oaks Youth Commission is accepting applications for the 2024 Youth Leadership Summit on Wednesday, March 13th at 4:00 pm in the Kavli Founders Room. Students in 7th-12th grades are encouraged to apply. To learn more and apply, visit https://t.co/oTSNMVUiiK.
“Andrew Pletcher, who chairs the Thousand Oaks Traffic and Transportation Commission, said a proposed Assembly bill (AB 825) seeks to give all cyclists in California the option of riding on sidewalks in certain situations. This would provide them a safer place to pedal when streets are too narrow or there are no bike lanes.
This is a “fantastic bill,” Pletcher told the Acorn.
“I think it’s a great approach for cities to give another option for bicyclists who don’t feel safe on local roads.”
We're working on making our community better prepared for emergencies by identifying areas where we need to improve. Please help us by completing this survey at https://t.co/xfebniivGd ⛑️🎒
@technotion_ @Weihe13 @conejodems It will pass. It will satisfy the State at least for the next 8 years. Will it enhance livability for current and future residents? Meh.
@Weihe13 @conejodems Our position is @CityofTO won't thrive without more housing, affordable housing, and neighborhood vitality. The GP needs to pass, not because it's great, but because it's enough. We wanted more affordable housing, safer streets, bike and walkability. Didn't happen. It's a loss.
"People don’t drive based on signage. They drive based on the design of the street. In the case of Olympic Boulevard, the design screams “wide open highway,” a lot like PCH. Hazardous as this is to all, it is most dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists" https://t.co/MBRYITarAb
L.A. doesn’t need ‘Watch your speed’ signs. It needs safer roads." Four Pepperdine students standing on the side of PCH were crushed by a car driven 104 MPH. This kind of traffic death shouldn’t be called an accident. We have accepted carnage in exchange for driver convenience.

Hey, @CityofTO Traffic Engineers. Remember how you told us that wider lanes were safer? Not so much. Study: 12 Ft. Lanes Are Deadlier Than 10 Ft. Ones — So Why Do Many DOTs Build Them Anyway? https://t.co/FIHBfknL8W
